Aluminum Can Collection
In case you were not aware, the Troop is collecting aluminum cans. The money
collected from the cans is directly going to the scouts to be used for buying
gear, outings, or whatever they designate it for. To date we have collected
about $130, this was combined with the $150 that the Tug-of-War team won to
provide the Troop with 2 new Lanterns, 2 stoves, 2 toasters, and a camp-stove
oven.
We would like to raise the additional money needed to replace the other stoves
and replace the other lanterns. There is also a future need for a 2nd dining
tarp. There is always a long list of equipment that needs replaced, maintained,
or acquired. The boys should be working to collect the cans and prioritizing
their needs.
Please bring your cans on the first meeting of every month. Mr. Tracey has
graciously agreed to collect them and take them to the recycling center. This
was his initial idea and has been very successful so far .
During the last camp-out all the scouts decided the stove top oven was pretty
cool and they had a great time trying it out. So please continue to bring in the
cans (crushed).
