Troop 194 High Adventure Information Page

We're always planning some kind of High Adventure Trip, so check back often to see what's in store.....  The word on the street is that it may be a Scuba Diving Trip in the Summer of 2008.

Below are some details of previous trips.

We are considering a High Adventure Trip to Alaska for 2007.  Here is  some preliminary information from Mr. Patton:

To all interested Alaska trip parties,  If you are interested, see Mr. Kunze or myself to sign up.  See one of us at the Troop/Crew meetings or reply via email.

Dates:  July 21 - August 5, 2007
Itinerary: Arrive Anchorage, do glacier cruise, drive to Kanai Pennisula, take 3 three day backpacking trips, Sea Kayak, Ice Climb and generally see as much of the local area as possible as time and money permits.
Approximate cost: $2000 or less with the difference being refunded at end
Planned activities: Sea Kayaking, Ice Climbing, Glacier Cruise, Backpacking and sightseeing.

Looking at pricing again and based on information from a Colorado groups actual costs, our cost per person should be about $1800.  We will ask for $2,000 but return any extra money we have left like we did for Sea Base.

Rental vehicles was a main concern since one other group mentioned this was high in Alaska.  I was able to confirm the pricing using two mini-vans as a worse case comparison.

The next highest cost was the Sea Kayaking and I will ask another question about that.

Timeframes we were looking at were July 21 through August 5.  This is two weeks with the return flight leaving late Saturday and getting into Cincinnati early Sunday.  I want to keep some flexibility here so in general we are looking at late July to early August.
